Hannah Lawrence is a local Ceramicist who specialises in “Pinch Pottery”. Formerly the owner and founder of “folklore” a small but thriving craft shop on the old high street of Falmouth. Her work is inspired by the traditional pottery of Africa, Japan and Egypt and aspires towards the art of wood firing. For now Hannah uses local stoneware clays and wood ash glazes.

Teaching is an important part of Hannah’s practice as pinching techniques can be much more accessible than wheel thrown pottery. This results in a quick learning curve for students and satisfying makes.
