DARN x Friends - Introducing Andrew Scott

A whimsical man named Andrew, Mr Scott's talent never fails to blow us away and as a Royal College of art duo, Amelia and Andrew swiftly became partners in crime during their time as creative students.

An ex-employee at luxury furniture brand BDDW (one of our favourites) Andrew is able to magically turn any material or scrap treasure into something new and extraordinary.

From instruments and collages to animation, chairs, tables and lamps, you name it, he can do it and gives each a brand new life - one that is far more exciting than what they were originally born with.

Andrew is a real star and we are so excited to have him part of the DARN family.

  1. What was the last thing that made you smile/laugh?

Seeing all the dogs out for their evening walks as I was heading home.

2. What has been the strangest moment of your design journey so far?

I was once came across what I guess was a ghost in a woodshop in Ohio.

3. What is your favourite material to work with and why?

I’m impartial but if I had to choose I’d say steel as it has such a range of what it can do, it’s wonderful. Although really just anything found on the curb or a workshop scrap bin is always a favourite.

4. What’s your favourite thing about London?

Biking around aimlessly.

5. What’s the strangest thing you have made?

I made a bagpipe from trash and found objects which was a bit funky.

6. If you could be a film character, or another person other than yourself, just for a day - who would you be?

Tintin.

7. If you could make anything and money or scale wasn’t an issue, what would it be?

Some kind of boat, or a giant pizza that everyone could have some.
