DARN + STONE CLUB

A collab between two good friends, Lally Macbeth and Matthew Shaw, a duo team that run the cult-like club that celebrates their love for standing stones… wonderful isn’t it, a club named ‘The Stone Club’. Lally also runs The Folk Archive Instagram account which I started following right when it started and gave me inspiration for my creative flow at Royal College of Art. It’s nice to have finally bonded and be sharing creative energy since moving down to Cornwall. Lally and I both also dance for the Morris dancing group called ‘The Wad’ run by Katherine Merry (a creative legend). Taking inspiration from Cornish folklore and Joan's feisty and fiery nature, our all-female Morris side brings Joan the WAD energy and a modern, progressive take to a mixture of traditional border and Cotswold dances.

Anyway, to put a nice story behind how we got to this collab, Lally and I always bump into each other at our local coffee shop — Situ in Penryn — and after talks of a collab we have finally put one together: a rather silly and playful design with smiling faces on standing stones. What’s not to like.

Stones make us happy! They can make you happy too with this t-shirt from Darn and Stone Club featuring a smiling Mên an Tol.
