TOAST X DARN - Winter - Holly Blues
When winter is hard and you need a shift, nothing beats a blustery seaside holiday with your bestest pal straight across the road.
Mama and maker Holly Blues shares with us her top tips for making the most of dismal days...
Fully immerse yourself into icy water,
buy yourself a bunch of winter bloomers for your holiday table,
cook a special meal with local veg,
forage for pretty kindling and fallen branches in the forest then prop them by the fireplace for all to admire, drink lots of spiced hot chocolate,
dress to impress yourself -lipstick essential,
play games around the fire,
have a knitting or mending project for idle hands,
wear three pairs of socks when you have cold feet,
read books that make you feel gushy,
go to bed early, watch the sun rise on the beach one morning,
stay in bed late watching the honey glow sneak around the curtain another morning, balance seashells on the holiday mantelpiece,
draw communal pictures with free abandonment,
then (carefully!) stick them up on the wall for a holiday exhibition!
These are our favourite tips but you might have other sweet ways to feed your heart and soul and we encourage you to seek them when the world is grey and heavy. Look after yourselves and each other.
