Draw, Eat, Repair Club

The Draw, Eat, Repair Club is hosted by DARN founder Amelia Pemberton and textile and repair artist Amy Brock-Morgan, who also spearheads the Lived & Loved repair program at Finisterre. An invitation for connection, skill development and play, each Draw, Eat, Repair Club interweaves three key aspects together; drawing, food and textile repair.

Removing the pressure of direct interaction between attendees, space for natural communication is created through drawing games, the sharing of food and tutorials in hand stitch repairs. We use our head, heart and hands to be present and playful, which gives our conscious minds a rest! Our club is designed to create a genuine, deeper relationship with people and place, as a safe setting to explore ideas, share thoughts and discover commonalities with the people around us.

Our vision for Draw, Eat, Repair Club is to highlight the importance and art of repair, whilst increasing its appeal by making the approach to mending accessible and uplifting. We use attainable tools such as linen cloth, fabric pens and even fruit for an non-intimidating approach, intertwined with relaxed discussions and guidance. Time together takes us beyond skill progression, as an opportunity to reconnect with the whole self through our senses, surroundings and solidarity.

Stay tuned for more Draw, Eat, Repair Clubs coming soon.
